Chao- Pretty sure we've all run into something like this. We see a story with this type of summary. Perhaps some of us are curious to know if this was written by a novice author. We see that some people have already left reviews. We click onto the story to see what's in store. Wait, it gets better: The story is written exactly like the summary. These authors are not exactly novice; they are actually something else: Trolls.

Chao- For some reason, there are people who like to cause trouble on the web. There has been a time where guest users would use a screen name of a FF.net user and write a mean review using that person's screen name. And some users are taking time to write out a story and posting them online. Can you report them? Guess it's up to the staff if they need to remove it or not. But you can have stronger reasons for reporting such a story if these "authors" break the website's rules.

Are you familiar with a little Harry Potter fic called "My Immortal"? It's been dubbed the worst fanfic of all time because it was basically a novel length troll gathering. Despite this, it was insanely popular. If I remember the facts correctly it had garnered well near 1000 reviews (perhaps more!) with ALL of them being negative. It just goes to show what happens when you do feed the trolls.
ReplyDeleteIt's become close to a meme for the Fanfiction community; it really is so bad it's funny. It was taken down because the author became abusive and threatening, saying things like "if u write sumthing mean ill find u and ill kell you" but you can still find it in the dark recesses of the Internet. If you ever need a good laugh, I suggest checking it out, even if you're not familiar with Harry Potter. It really has nothing to do with HP.
